So we are in the process of buying our first home. It all kinda happened in a whirl-wind. We had looked at about a million houses (it felt like, anyway) and then my mother-in-law found one for sale by owner. So she got us an appointment to look at it. We loved it and came back a second time. It was on the market for 188,000. We offered 168,000. Finally we settled on 170,000.

Now we are in the process of getting a home inspection done and getting all that boring crap taken care of. Also, Garrett and I have enrolled in a first time home buyers class. So even though most of what they are going over is stuff we've already done, it will most likely be beneficial for us.

The house itself is very cute. I will most likely do some painting on the inside but for the most part, it's a pretty amazing home for out first place. It's 4 bedroom, 2 bath. It's got a 2 car garage, a full finished basement, it's on a double corner lot, also has a huuuuge backyard for Grr. New appliances in the kitchen. It doesn't have a formal dining area, but thats ok. Me and Garrett aren't very formal people. haha. The upstairs bathroom alone is enough to buy the whole house. heehee! It's got a steam shower, where the top is enclosed and there's a little built in seat. There's also a jetted tub! Then in the basement, the laundry room is about the size of a normal bedroom with counterspace for folding and all.

Overall, I think we are definitely getting our moneys worth.
